Hailing from just a half-hour's journey from Hollywood, California—America's glittering epicenter of entertainment—my life has always been magnetized to the lustrous allure of performance. With my vocal journey commencing at the tender age of five, I've been blessed to receive guidance from globally acclaimed mentors, Like Carol Ann Modessit, Dr. Ken Peterson, Laurie Winckel, Norris Chappell Jr., and Tony Award Winner Lisa Seegmiller. Further honing my skills, I immersed myself in studying music and vocal performance at Southern Utah University, fully funded by a scholarship, with my focus on opera and musical theatre.
I've had many special experiences throughout my singing career. Among my most cherished moments are winning first place in the musical theater/classical divisions at the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition in 2005 and 2009, representing the Las Vegas chapter. The adrenaline rush from making my television singing debut in 2003, performing the National Anthem at the Paradise Bowl, is a memory that will always stay with me.
Joining the Orchestra of Southern Utah and Southwest Symphony as a soprano soloist in their performances of Handel's Messiah has been another significant milestone. My journey on the stage has seen me embrace both ensemble and lead roles in a variety of theatrical productions. These roles range from playing The Narrator in Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to portraying Sarah in Quilters. I've performed as Fastrada in Pippin, Sister Hubert in Nunsense, and brought to life the Witch in Into The Woods. My roles in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum as Lycus, Shrek as Mama Ogre and the Dragon, and an unforgettable portrayal of Audrey II, the plant in Little Shop of Horrors, hold special places in my heart. On the classical opera stage, I've taken on roles like the First Lady in Mozart's Magic Flute, Nella in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, and the title role in Puccini's Suor Angelica.
The performing arts have always been a passion of mine, and this love has motivated me to share my knowledge and experience with others. It was over 15 years ago, while studying at Dixie State University that I opened my first studio in Southern Utah. Since then, I've expanded and opened further studios in Las Vegas, Kansas City, and in 2014, Austin, Texas. From 2011 to 2013, I was fortunate to serve as the resident music director for Kids in the Round Theater company Saint George, Utah as well as the General Music & Choir teacher at Vista School of Performing Arts. It brings me great joy to see my students flourish in their own careers, landing lead roles in regional theaters, TV, and film projects, or achieving success in school performances and joining select performance groups. My aim is to continue nurturing these promising talents, ensuring that the appreciation for the performing arts is perpetuated.
