Teaching is not just my passion, it's my calling. With boundless dedication, I pour my heart and soul into each student, witnessing their remarkable transformation into extraordinary singers, musicians, and artists, which fills me with immense joy.
In our private lessons, we focus on the captivating world of singing. However, it's more than just lessons--it's a personalized experience crafted specifically for you. Every session in my studio is meticulously tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. Together, we delve into the exploration and refinement of technique, stylization, artistry, and the sheer beauty of music.
I believe in nurturing an environment that ignites creativity and celebrates individuality. Beyond foundational skills and knowledge, I strive to empower you as a strong and confident musician and artist. Embracing your own unique sound and image, you'll discover the true depth of your artistic potential.
I have 21 years of experience and a deep love for helping singers grow with confidence, balance, and vocal freedom. I am committed to providing the best vocal instruction for my clients. I am an an accredited teacher of International Voice Teachers of Mix (IVTOM). I am also a certified member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). I studied music vocal performance with emphasis in opera and musical theatre at Southern Utah University. I opened my first private studio, Vocal Voracity in Southern Utah. Since then, I’ve taught in Las Vegas, Kansas City, and now call Austin, Texas home. I’ve also served as resident music director for the Kids in the Round Theater Company and taught General Music & Choir at Vista School of Performing Arts.
I've had many special experiences throughout my singing career. Among my most cherished moments are winning first place in the musical theater and classical divisions at the National Association of Teachers of Singing regional auditions in 2005 and 2009, Las Vegas chapter. The adrenaline rush from making my television singing debut in 2003, performing the National Anthem at the Paradise Bowl, is a memory that will always stay with me. Joining the Orchestra of Southern Utah and Southwest Symphony as a soprano soloist in their performances of Handel's Messiah has been another significant milestone.
My journey on the stage has seen me embrace both ensemble and lead roles in a variety of theatrical productions. These roles range from The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Lycus in A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum, Sarah in Quilters, and Fastrada in Pippin to Sister Hubert in Nunsense and the Witch in Into the Woods. Some of my favorite experiences include playing Mama Ogre and the Dragon in Shrek, Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, and taking on classical opera roles such as the First Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and the title role in Suor Angelica.
The performing arts have always been a passion of mine, and this love has motivated me to share my knowledge and experience with others.
Today, I continue to perform and currently sing with the Millennial Choirs & Orchestras (MCO), which feeds my love for collaborative music-making and keeps me connected to the stage.
What brings me the most joy is watching my students thrive—whether they’re landing lead roles in regional theaters, performing on television or film, excelling in school productions, or joining elite performance groups.
I’ve been lucky to train under the guidance of incredible mentors throughout my life. I am deeply grateful to Carol Ann Modesitt, Dr. Ken Peterson, Laurie Winckel, Norris Chappell Jr., Aimee Geddes, and Tony Award winner Lisa Seegmiller for their wisdom, encouragement, and lasting impact on my life and teaching. Their influence continues to inspire the way I approach each student and every lesson.
I’m dedicated to nurturing the love of performance in each student, sharing my knowledge and experiences to help them find their voice and achieve their goals—both onstage and beyond. I look forward to continuing this journey, supporting the next generation of artists with a heart full of passion and a commitment to excellence.
